Title: Business Analyst II

Reports To: Optimization Team Leads

Department: Optimization

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Description:

The Business Analyst II will play an integral role on our Optimization Team. This person would report directly to the CEO and would interact with our Data Scientist, IT development teams, management and end users on a daily basis.

The responsibilities would include projects and analyses across the entire business, including: sales and marketing, collections, legal, underwriting, verifications, accounting and more. The goal would be to find areas of improvement and also oversee the implementation needed to optimize processes. The key is not to just do analysis and pass it off, but to effect and oversee direct change.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Be a key contributor to strategic analytical projects from the design phase through architecture, development, testing, documentation, production deployment and support
  • Lead training and documentation of core research & analytics functions, mentor and work collaboratively with other team members on data integrity and data acquisition
  • Collect, analyze, interpret and summarize data in preparation for data modeling and analytical report writing
  • Optimize workflows to ensure best customer experience and streamlined processes

  • Problem Solving / Analysis

  • Ability to gather, analyze data, and generate complex reports
  • Ability to visualize and compile large sets of data into a clear and presentable format

Preferred Skills:

  • Data modeling / machine learning is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Python, R, Stata, Octave, other is a big plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing data analysis, data mining, and working with large amounts of data or financial modeling
  • PMP certification is a bonus
  • Knowledge of web services and available technologies for Salesforce.com preferred

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands of the position are typical of those found in a traditional office environment
  • Employee will not need to walk significant distances nor lift substantial weight
  • Employee will need to be able to remain seated at a desk for 8-9 hours in a typical workday and should be comfortable routinely using standard office equipment such as computers and phones
